Redefining Success – EQ vs IQ
Redefining Success - EQ vs IQ
Emotional Quotient (EQ) is a way to measure how a person recognizes emotions in himself or herself and others, and manages these emotional states to work better as a group or team. Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is a value that indicates a person’s ability to learn, understand, and apply information and skills in a meaningful way.
Which one is more important? Traditional Intelligence versus Emotional Intelligence?
What kind of intelligence is more important to achieve success in our lives, careers?
How do we define a successful life?
Let’s gather to discuss this very important topic. A graduate of both Harvard and Columbia, no one is more qualified to lead this discussion than Hakeem Rahim, Ed.M., M.A., a nationally recognized mental health awareness expert.
Hakeem will also share his poignant story and the powerful lessons learned at the intersection of mental well-being, purpose and intellectual and emotional maturity.

What Is God?
WHAT IS GOD?
Is it possible to know what God is?
Einstein had this to say: “The more I read, the more puzzled I was by the order of the universe and the disorder of the human mind, by the scientists who didn’t agree on the how, the when, or the why of creation.
Then one day this student brought me Kant’s Critique of Pure Reason. Reading Kant, I began to suspect everything I was taught. I no longer believed in the known God of the Bible, but rather in the mysterious God expressed in nature. Through my pursuit in science I have known cosmic religious feelings.”
Let’s discuss. This conversation will be lead by a subject matter expert. Bring your open mind to the table…will be great fun.

How To Find Work You Love
HOW TO FIND WORK YOU LOVE
- What does a meaningful job really look like - one that does more than pays the bills?
- How important is it to have a job that supports your personal values and uses your talent?
- Will your dream job be as satisfying as you make it out to be?
- Should we pursue a job for money, to build a resume or for purpose?
- Are you aware of what you loved to do as a child?
The conversation will be lead by Orin Davis, Ph.D. who was the first person to earn a
Doctorate in Positive Psychology and runs The Quality of Life Lab in NYC. He is an Adjunct Professor and Lecturer in the department of Psychology at City University of New York, Baruch College. His research and tools focus on how people can do and be their best by discovering what really matters. He will ask us 'what is the work that we can't not do? The evening promises to be fun, enlightening and meaningful. Each attendee will receive a surprise gift.

Love & Sex
LOVE & SEX
- "Why does great sex so often fade for couples who claim to love each other as much as ever?"
- "Is Sex really related to love?" Sex was once described as "the opposite of love"
- And if sex is the opposite of love...why do we need sex in loving relationships? Is sex necessary?
- "Why doesn't intimacy in a relationship guarantee good sex?"
- What is love?
The conversation will be lead by Dr. Judy Kuriansky, PH.D. who teaches a course at Columbia Teachers College on ‘The Psychology of Intimacy.” She is the author of ‘The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Healthy Relationships’ and ‘The Complete Idiot’s Guide Tantric Sex.’ Dr. Kuriansky will help us become wiser about love and sex in our lives. The evening promises to be fun, enlightening and provocative. Each attendee will receive a Valentine's Day gift.
The American insistence on mixing love and sex and expecting passion to last forever is leading to great suffering that we think is tragic and unnecessary. - Christopher Ryan
